|
Victim services: Victims can be involved in a variety of ways. We welcome those that wish
Restorative Justice is victim centered. Not every person is interested in speaking about the harm experienced. For those that want to, restorative justice is an avenue. to speak or tell their stories. Opportunities are available at impact panels or empathy seminars. Victims have the opportunity to share how crime impacted them physically, financially and emotionally. Victims can request mediation or circle process with their offender or speak with others who have committed similar crimes. Victims are welcome to volunteer with our program and explore pathways for themselves. |
Offender Services: SCVRJP programs and classes are designed to promote accountability and healing. From pre-diversion to post adjudication or sentencing SCVRJP hold sessions to support change. Programs are specific to crimes or the process. For example Victim Impact Panels, provide the service needed to restore driving privileges. Victim-Offender Conferencing is a process where parties speak to each other. Victims share how they were impacted and offenders offer explanations, answer questions and participate in plans to make things right.
Community Member Services: SCVRJP provides deep and meaningful volunteer and service learning experiences. Training, support and a variety of activities are available. Community members speak at programs, help with registrations and support the overall functioning of SCVRJP. Please see our volunteer page.
